A Short History of Prams Did you know that the first types of prams is an invention from the very early 18th century? Due to that era's poor roads, it was very difficult to use prams so it was not before the 19th century that they started to be seen on the streets. To start with, it was only the upper classes who could afford a baby stroller. The rest had to, in one way or another, to carry the babies, until the babies could walk themselves. At the start of the 20th century, the other classes also began to find the means to afford a stroller, so their use really took off and the famous Swedish baby buggy brands BRIO and Emmaljunga were established during the 1920s.
